About the Role
As Aerodynamicist, you will play a central role in our R&D efforts to ensure we stay ahead of competitors. Your expertise will inform the design of the vehicle’s control surfaces, ensure we maximize benefits from RAM effect, develop strategy to actively control the air cushion, all while also ensuring efficiency is maximized and noise is minimized.
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual who can balance immediate goals with long-term scalability. Your insights will shape the future of marine transportation, helping us build and maintain a competitive edge as we continue to refine our intellectual property. You will report directly to the Head of Design and Technology and work closely with our team in Squamish and other partners to bring our designs to life and build a highly valuable company.
What You’ll Do
- Report directly to the Head of Design and Technology. Focus on growing the Intellectual Property of Celerity Craft, and ensuring the company is positioned as technological leader.
- Design: Use CFD and analytical methods to identify the most promising ways to improve the vehicle’s key characteristics.
- Make: Develop digital model and parametrization which supports rapid iteration, as well as the company’s ability to rapidly customize our platform to the needs of various customers.
- Test: Evaluate the performance of prototypes through a combination of data collection and analytical frameworks. Have a hands on approach when it comes to instrumentation.
- Analyze: Transform testing results into valuable insights for future designs, file patents, and contribute to the company’s leadership in marine technology.
Your Background
- Aerodynamics Fundamentals: Deep understanding of fluid dynamics, airflow, and the principles of aerodynamics as they apply to hovercrafts.
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, COMSOL) for modeling and simulation of airflow around hovercrafts.
- Mathematical and Computational Analysis: Strong skills in mathematical modeling, numerical methods, and the ability to analyze complex aerodynamic data.
- Design and Engineering Software: Experience with CAD tools (e.g., OnShape, SolidWorks, CREO, Fusion 360, Catia) for designing aerodynamic components.
- Experimental Techniques: Knowledge of wind tunnel testing, prototyping, and the ability to interpret experimental data to validate CFD models.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration in British Columbia is a plus. Join us at Celerity Craft to help revolutionize marine transportation and contribute to the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
