Composites Technician.

Job Description

Celerity Craft | Squamish, British Columbia | Full-time, On-site

Celerity Craft is a Squamish-based marine technology startup developing Dynamic Air Cushion Vehicles (DACVs) — innovative, low-energy amphibious craft that combine trimaran hulls with an energized air cushion for lift and propulsion. We are scaling prototypes (including 2.4 m, 5 m, 8 m and 12 m vessels) toward production and are building a high-performance composites capability in the Sea to Sky corridor.

We are looking for a hands-on Composites Technician to join our manufacturing and R&D team. You will be responsible for fabricating structural and non-structural composite components, with a strong emphasis on carbon fibre, Fiber glass, vacuum infusion and high-quality finishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare molds, perform surface treatments and lay up fiberglass and carbon fibre laminates to engineering drawings and process specifications.
  • Execute vacuum infusion processes (resin selection, flow media, bagging, infusion and cure control).
  • Carry out secondary bonding, core bonding, and assembly of composite parts.
  • Perform finishing operations including fairing, sanding, gelcoat or paint preparation, and final surface finishing to marine-grade standards.
  • Inspect parts for defects, document processes and support quality control.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized workshop; follow health & safety procedures for resins, dust and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers on prototype iterations, tooling improvements and process development.
  • Support occasional field testing and prototype assembly as required.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience working with fiberglass and carbon fibre composites.
  • Strong practical knowledge of vacuum infusion techniques.
  • Experience with finishing processes (fairing, sanding, coating) to a high cosmetic and structural standard.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, follow work instructions and work accurately to tolerances.
  • Familiarity with common composite materials, resins (epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester), core materials and vacuum bagging consumables.
  • Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup/R&D environment where processes are still being refined.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Marine, boat-building or aerospace composites experience.
  • Experience with larger structures or multi-piece molds.
  • Knowledge of tooling design, CNC trimming or 3D-printed tooling.
  • Familiarity with composite repair techniques.
  • Relevant trade certification or formal composites training.

What We Offer

  • The chance to work on genuinely novel amphibious vessels from prototype through to production.
  • Direct involvement in process development and continuous improvement.
  • Highly competitive compensation (commensurate with experience) and the opportunity to grow with a scaling company.
  • Based in Squamish — access to outstanding outdoor lifestyle with reasonable access to Vancouver.

How to Apply

Please send your resume and a short note outlining your relevant composites experience (especially vacuum infusion and finishing) to hiring@celeritycraft.com or via the application link. Include any examples of projects or photos of finished work if available.

Celerity Craft is an equal-opportunity employer. We value practical skill, curiosity and a collaborative attitude as much as formal qualifications.
