Celerity Craft Featured on the Cover of The Journal of Ocean Technology.

Celerity Craft has been featured on the cover of the Summer 2026 issue of The Journal of Ocean Technology, a publication of the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland.

The issue focuses on Startups for a Sustainable Ocean Economy and highlights organizations developing technologies that have the potential to improve the future of marine transportation, ocean sustainability, and maritime operations.

The cover features Celerity Craft’s Dynamic Air Cushion Vehicle (DACV) technology operating in Howe Sound, British Columbia.

Recognition for a New Approach to Marine Transportation

Marine transportation remains one of the most energy-intensive forms of transportation due to the resistance created when vessels move through water.

Celerity Craft’s DACV platform takes a different approach. By using a dynamic air cushion to reduce water drag while generating lift and thrust, the technology is being developed to enable:

  • Higher operating speeds
  • Improved energy efficiency
  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Low wake operation
  • Amphibious capability across water, shoreline, ice, and other challenging environments

The platform is being designed for applications ranging from passenger transportation and remote community access to defence, security, and autonomous marine systems.

Supporting a Sustainable Ocean Economy

The Journal of Ocean Technology is now in its 21st year of publication and serves readers across industry, academia, research institutions, government agencies, and ocean technology organizations worldwide.

Being selected for the cover of an issue dedicated to ocean innovation reflects growing interest in technologies that can improve the efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility of marine transportation.

Celerity Craft continues to advance development of its DACV platform through prototype testing, engineering development, and commercial engagement with operators, industry partners, and government stakeholders.

We would like to thank The Journal of Ocean Technology and the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland for featuring our technology and for their continued support of innovation within Canada’s ocean economy.
